Sculptra

How Does Sculptra Differ from Other Cosmetic Fillers?

Sculptra is in a class of its own. Sculptra is made with poly-L-lactic acid, working with your body deep in the dermis of the skin to help stimulate and revitalize your body’s collagen production and help build up the skin’s inner structure to increase volume. It is gradually absorbed by the body and acts as a collagen stimulator. Sculptra goes deep under the skin to restore the underlying structure of our skin, causing facial wrinkles to diminish. Since it is placed within the deep dermis of the skin to help revitalize collagen production, it works differently than other facial dermal fillers at restoring your skin’s inner volume and structure. As the Sculptra PLLA (poly-L-lactic acid) microparticles are absorbed, they stimulate collagen production. Once the rebuilt collagen strands are created, this helps restore facial volume and the look of fullness to folds and wrinkles. This is also how the results have more longevity than most treatments.

How Long Does Sculptra Last?

In studies, 94% of patients reported having natural-looking results that lasted up to two years!

What Makes Sculptra Different?

In the world of facial fillers, there are many widely used in medical spa practices worldwide. Sculptra is a cosmetic filler used to address the underlying cause of facial aging. It is an FDA-approved injectable that assists in gradually replacing lost collagen. It has a slow and steady strength, so patience is key while waiting for optimal results to be revealed. Yet once results are delivered, the results can last for several years, unlike other procedures and facial injectables.

Why Do We Need More Collagen?

Collagen is a common protein in the body responsible for forming the framework that supports skin cells and tissues. As we age, we gradually lose collagen, and our bodies find it difficult to make more. There are many over-the-counter products available, such as collagen supplements, that claim to replenish collagen, but the results are inconclusive. Without collagen, our facial structure begins to sag, and frown lines, crow’s feet, nasolabial folds, and wrinkles are more prominent. Collagen loss is common as we age. Sculptra assists in increasing collagen that our bodies naturally produce especially after the age of 40.

Why Sculptra For More Collagen

Sculptra addresses an underlying cause of facial aging, not just the symptoms.

Anti-aging treatments are not the same, for example:

Collagen Creams: Collagen creams do not fully penetrate to the dermis, so most topical treatments are only effective as moisturizers that briefly improve the skin’s appearance.

Collagen Supplements: When ingested, the digestive system breaks down collagen proteins, yet their effectiveness remains inconclusive.

Neurotoxins: Toxins like Botox or Xeomin temporarily weaken muscles to minimize frown lines in the forehead. Results typically last up to 12 weeks. Botox does not stimulate collagen production.

Fillers: Hyaluronic acid fillers work immediately upon injection to areas of the face that have lost volume and fullness due to the aging process. Dermal fillers also help correct fine lines, wrinkles, and deep folds. You will need to have multiple treatments and most last around one year.
